NODE:1
NODE:1 is a meditative graphic object exploring the non-linear nature of growth and the creative process. Through a system of interconnected concepts, it visualizes how ideas may emerge, dissolve, and evolve. Folding the objects reveals different levels of understanding, further emphasizing that process is a web of interconnected moments rather than sequential.

There is constantly a lot on my mind. Often more than I know what to do with or how to describe. Node:1 is a meditative attempt to convey my personal reflections on the creative process and or growth after my four years of study. There is only two concrete conclusions from these meditations. The first being that both the process and growth are cyclical. There are phases and steps or lulls and peaks, but there is no real quantifiable start and end to growth. In the case of the creative process, I may be done with a project but all the lessons and tools from along the way influence the next project. In a way I'm just picking up from where I left off. The other unequivocal truth is that everything is interconnected. This includes the act of doing nothing, the acting of watching TV, people providing critique, living life, achieving some form of perfection. Every single thing influences each other thing in their own remarkable way. This single object, across two sides, aims to visualize those connections across axis and similar triplet groupings. It was important for me that this was interactive and that the form wasn't solid. The creative process is a form of play, it looks different for different people, so when someone wants to explore the object they need to be able to do it in their own way. That being said I left some guidance and some definitions to aid people in exploration, or maybe in understanding all those things on my mind.
